BEATRICE MINDA

Beatrice Minda (Munich, 1968, lives and works in Berlin) presents images of Romania in response to the cultural climate she has observed in Italy during her stay. Over the last several years, Italian media has fueled a bias against foreigners, and especially Romanians. Minda`s past bodies of work have explored the lives of Romanian emigrants. “Getting used to reality" is a series of photographs depicting architecture and urban flora - observations of a Romanian town undergoing the process of transformation. The pictures of ordinary life that could be almost found in any other European town, experiencing a similar process of transformation. By depicting the ordinary, even banal aspects of life in a Romanian town, Minda hopes one might consider what is shared beyond boundaries of nationality or ethnicity. she took part to IL DISSENSO |
