OnMedia is a complex and multifold project starting from October 2011 and supposed to last several years. It is composed of two steps: a start up (until Spring 2012) and a continuous activity starting from October 2012.
O’, the promoting institution, realized this project thanks to the of Die Schachtel, the Consulate of Netherlands in Milan, the Austrian cultural Forum in Milan, the Goethe Institut Mailand, ISR Istituto Svizzero di Roma sede di Milano, the Centre Culturel Français, the faculty of Musicology-University of Pavia in Cremona, the University of Limerick and Sincronie and the Provincia di Milano.
The start-up is designed on one hand as an in-depth examination and research (whose role is fundamental to the entire development of the project) and, on the other hand, as a moment of creation and growth of an international network of collaborations between different national and local professionals who will be involved from time to time.
The second step (from January 2012) will be the evaluation of the start-up and its results as well as the consolidation of the network in order to guarantee continuity with new and valuable artistic proposals.
Our activities consist of:
- lectures organized with nine European centers of research on sound, art, science technology and multimedia in order to deepen the relationship between creativity, artistic production, development and new media
- labs that will introduce the theme of the relationship between sound and noise;
- presentations/shows by international authors who use different media and languages
- concerts and performances
Our goal is to support both the international exchange, with a special attention for the European Community, and the public response. It will result in a rich and varied programming, but all planned interventions will be strictly consistent to the theme, so that OnMedia will be the mirror of a changing reality and not just a showcase for individual projects.
